Q: I’ve had a bob haircut for a while now and need a change. My hair grows to slow to wait out the growing out process and I want a change now, but I’m a little afraid of looking boyish when going shorter. Any ideas?
 - Allison

A: Going shorter can be a scary and dramatic experience for some women. But no need to worry, there are plenty of short sassy cuts out there that show off your feminine beauty. With more and more celebrity’s going shorter, these cuts are gaining more popularity. What to look for in a short cut: Great shape and soft lines.

Q: I can’t style my bangs no matter what I do. They seem to have a mind of their own. Help!
- Heather
A: Most stylist make the mistake of not paying enough attention to the most important area of the haircut, the front end. Everything around your face should lay nice and soft. Texturizing some of the weight out of your bangs will allow them to fall nicely and blend them in with the layers around your face.  Avoid blunt, harsh angels around your most important asset, your face!

"How can I control my life when I can't control my hair?"

As a hairdresser, I get a lot of questions about cutting hair, styling hair and hair color. Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions I encounter and the professional answers you are looking for!

Q: I need my ends trimmed up, but I’m growing out my hair and don’t want to lose a lot of length. What can I do to change up my look as I wait for it to get longer?

- Ashley
A: Most women when growing their hair out, get to a point where the length just doesn’t seem to grow.  This usually happens right around the shoulders. Even though you are in an in-between stage, your hair doesn’t have to look like it has no style. Add a few face framing layers, opening up your front end. A swoop or blunt bang is always a great idea.

Q: I’m a light brunette naturally, and my hair color looks dull and lifeless! What can I do to breathe some life back in it with as little maintenance as possible?
- Kelly
A: Changing up your color doesn’t always have to be a big ordeal. Just adding a few fine carmel highlights can change everything, giving your hair dimension and depth.

Q: My hair is fine and always looks flat. Help!
 - Brittney
A: Women with fine hair are always nervous about getting layers, but with the right amount, your hair will look and feel great. Without layers, the top of your hair lays heavy and flat. When adding layers, your once heavy hair will feel lighter, giving you better shape and movement.

Q: I would love my frizzy hair to be shiny and straight. How can I achieve this?
- Crystal
A: During the winter month’s hair tends to feel dry and frizzy, making it hard to style. Treat your hair to a clear gloss-conditioning agent and make your dry hair feel like silk and lay straight.

Q: I’m starting to see a few grays pop up and I don’t like it! I think it’s to soon for me to starting permanently coloring my hair. What can I do?
- Rachel
A: Going Lighter: Adding a few fine highlights will blend up those unwanted grays, and will by you a few more years before permanent color.
Natural Shade: Demi-Permanent color will become your best friend. This color line covers 80% of your gray, blending it in with your natural shade. What’s great about this color, it fades naturally as you wear it and never leaves a line! Genius!

Q: I LOVE my really long hair, but it’s so heavy and losing shape. Is it ok to put a few shorter layers in it?
- Amber
A: Yes! The longer your hair gets, it’s going to lay and feel heavier. By adding plenty of layers, your hair will hold onto its natural shape and look healthy and beautiful. It’s all about how you wear your hair and not letting your hair wear you!
